IDOS Airdrop 1 snapshot taking place in Q2 2025
In 2024, we announced the idOS’ Airdrop 1 for FCL holders as a way to express appreciation for the critical early support from the Fractal ID community in the journey to building idOS. Today, we’re pleased to share a key update: the snapshot for Airdrop 1 is planned to take place in Q2 2025.

Why The Announcement Took Some Months
After our initial airdrop announcement in 2024, the idOS Association successfully secured contributions from some of the main web3 ecosystems and teams (see announcement here). This gave us the opportunity to significantly expand our roadmap and focus on building a far more ambitious product before launching the network.
Rather than rush into a token launch, we made the decision to prioritize real utility and adoption first. The extra time has allowed us to build the idOS Storage Network, work on a number of exciting integrations that we will announce in the following months, and prepare for a secure and sustainable token generation event in late 2025.
Why This Airdrop Matters
The idOS Association is planning Airdrop 1 to express appreciation for the support of the early community that helped lay the foundation for this project. Fractal ID, its contributors, and the more than 22k FCL holders played a key role in the development of idOS during its earliest stages.
While Fractal ID and idOS are entirely separate organizations, we share a belief in user-owned, privacy-preserving identity. idOS hopes to continue working with Fractal ID as a key implementation solution of what it means to offer identity verification services without centralized data storage.
Snapshot Details
To be considered for Airdrop 1, you would need to hold FCL in a self-custodial wallet on Ethereum or Gnosis Chain at the time of the snapshot. The snapshot is intended to take place sometime during Q2 2025 and will only be announced retroactively.
Important Notes
- Wallets in the scope of the airdrop: Self-custodial wallets holding FCL, including team and early contributor wallets (even if still vesting, subject to original vesting terms).
- Outside of the scope of the airdrop:
- Fractal ID admin wallets and treasury
- Locked vesting contracts
- Liquidity pools and centralized exchanges
What’s Coming Next
The idOS Association is planning for the IDOS Token Generation Event to happen in Q4 2025. Once live, considered wallets from the snapshot are intended to receive an airdrop at a 4 FCL tokens : 1 IDOS token ratio.
The tokens are planned to be distributed monthly over a 6-month linear vesting period, beginning shortly after the Token Generation Event (TGE).
The Role of the IDOS Token
The IDOS Token will have a total supply of 1 billion tokens, and is planned to serve as a utility token securing the idOS Storage Network.
