Two weeks after the launch of the idOS App, more than 62,000 unique humans have created their idOS Profile. The community is growing fast — and now, it’s time to take the next step.

Starting today, we’re introducing Social Points and new quests inside the idOS App. Both are considered for Epoch 1, which will end on October 23 at 23:59 UTC.

What’s new

  • Social Points measure your engagement and activity in the idOS ecosystem through your idOS Mindshare — provided directly by Wallchain via API and visible in both the Wallchain leaderboard and the idOS App leaderboard.
  • New Quests are now live, celebrating the newly added support for NEAR and XRPL wallets, as well as our partnership with Wallchain.
  • The combination of Quest Points + Social Points defines your Total Points, which determines your ranking on the idOS leaderboard for Epoch 1.

How Social Points work

  • In Epoch 1, Quest Points and Social Points are considered towards your Total Points. Since we are integrating Social Points towards the end of Epoch 1, Social Points will have a 20% weight compared to Quest Points.
  • The formula is simple:

Social Points = (Total Quest Points from all App users) × 20% × (Your idOS Mindshare %)

  • Example: if all users combined have 10 million Quest Points and you have 1 % idOS Mindshare, you’ll have 20,000 Social Points.
  • Your Mindshare percentage should be the same in the Wallchain leaderboard and the idOS App leaderboard, and follows the same exact criteria.
  • Please bear in mind Mindshare is dynamic, and so are Social Points — it may change daily based on your (and others’) activity on X. Both Wallchain’s and the idOS App leaderboards update once every 24 hours around the same time.
  • The Wallchain API can only fetch data for the Top 2,000 participants in the idOS Leaderboard in the Wallchain app. Please note that if your Mindshare % is low and you are outside the top 2,000, your amount of Social Points will not be calculated. But remember, Mindshare is dynamic and it is calculated daily, so you may appear in the leaderboard the future.

Why are we doing this?

You may be wondering why are we covering social engagement across 2 different leaderboards, considering the same criteria.

The answer is simple: we want the humans in the idOS community to become active users of idOS.

In the next weeks, we are going to be releasing more features and updates in the idOS App, and we want everyone to experience them first hand.

How to activate your Social Points

You can start getting Social Points in 4 easy steps:

  1. Create or log in to your idOS Profile in the idOS App.
  2. Go to the Quests page and click on “Connect X account.”
  3. Review X’s permission pop-up carefully, then confirm if you’re okay with the idOS App accessing your X username.
  4. After confirming, your X profile will appear in both the Quests and Leaderboard pages. If you have also connected your X profile in the Wallchain app you should be able to see your Mindshare and Social Points in the Leaderboard page.

Please consider the following important points when connecting your X profile:

  • idOS only requests the lowest permission level available from the X API — just enough to authenticate your X username and link it to your Wallchain idOS Mindshare.
  • Once linked, your X handle will be publicly shown next to your points on the leaderboard, but your wallet address remains private. No idOS protocol-level link exists between your wallets and X profile.
  • Privacy means choice — if you prefer to stay as ExcitedPinkGiraffe, you can. You don’t have to connect X, but without it we can’t display your Mindshare or Social Points.
  • You can connect only one X profile, you may disconnect and add a different one if you wish, we will consider the one that is connected at the end of the Epoch.

A few clarifications

  • The Wallchain Mindshare campaign and idOS App quests are separate community incentive programs — both run in parallel during Epoch 1.
  • Both campaigns are designed to help users experience, research, and learn more about idOS.
  • Each leaderboard highlights top community contributors — for example, members in the Top 20 demonstrate outstanding engagement and deserve recognition from the project and the community.
  • Top Mindshare users without a linked idOS Profile may appear in the idOS Leaderboard without a ranking. Only users with an idOS Profile and a connected wallet will be considered as an active participant in the idOS App.
  • Every post counts, every point counts. Epoch 1 ends on October 23 at 23:59 UTC. To be considered as an active participant in the idOS App, you should have at least 150 Total Points by that time.
  • What happens after Epoch 1? Epoch 2 starts. The Wallchain Mindshare campaign has been a great success so far! We are also putting a lot of effort and appreciation into the idOS App leaderboard and the points system. Epoch 1 is has been critical to set the foundation, Epoch 2 will be epic!
  • For Epoch 2, we'll unlock Contribution Points as another pillar that will play a central role, and probably reshuffle the leaderboard, giving fair chances to new joiners.
