π The idOS App is live!
β
This is the main app for users to create idOS Profiles, manage who has access to their data, complete quests, and interact with many new features and events coming up in the next weeks.
β
idOS is mainly an infrastructure solution for stablecoin apps. However, there are still few weeks left for our first integration announcements, and we wanted to give our community a sneak peek of what it means to truly own your data on-chain. Even better: we have designed some quests to guide you through that journey, and give you the ability to also earn some points* (more on this later on).
β
More functionalities of the idOS App are coming in the next weeks, but today you can already complete some actions:
β
Your idOS profile is your personal βdigital vaultβ, where your credentials are stored and encrypted with your keys. To create your idOS profile in the idOS App, you will follow these steps:
β
Connect a supported wallet
Today the idOS App supports EVM wallets, with NEAR and XRPL wallets coming very soon. You will be able to add additional wallets later on, and change your primary wallet.

Steps to create your idOS Profile
β
To create your idOS Profile, you need to follow three steps:
β
β
1. Create your private key
β
Your private key is, well, key, to protect your idOS Profile and encrypt your data. Your private key is yours, which means that nobody else, including idOS, has access to this key. By default, idOS recommends to create a private key using our MPC solution, developed together with PartisiaBlockchain. This way, you can create a key simply signing with your connected crypto wallet, with no need to remember more passwords or seed phrases. You can learn more about how our MPC solution for encryption keys works here.
β
β
2. Verify your identity
β
To create your idOS Profile in the idOS App, you have to prove you are a unique human. Therefore, the app will ask you to complete a basic video liveness check. Privacy is very important for idOS, so you can rest assured that biometric identifiable data (i.e. pictures) are never processed outside of secured enclaves, and are never stored anywhere. You can read more about biometrics and idOS FaceSign here.
β
For a better experience while conducting the liveness check, we recommend using the camera of your mobile device.
β
β
3. Add a credential
β
Once you have finalized the liveness check, you can add a Verifiable Credential to your idOS Profile, that proves that you are a human being. This credential is encrypted using your keys, and only third parties to which you grant access will be able to access its content.
β
The credential doesnβt Β contain any pictures of your biometrics, but it does contain your idOS unique biometric ID (FaceSignUserID). While the idOS app just allows for one idOS Profile to be created per human, idOS allows people to create multiple profiles at a protocol level, and lets users prove uniqueness when needed, by selectively sharing their unique biometric ID (perhaps from different idOS Profiles, if requested) without sharing any identifiable biometric information. However, you should still be careful who do you share your credentials and their contents with.
β
β
If you logged in with a non-EVM wallet, you may be asked to connect an EVM wallet and set is as your primary wallet. This is important for you to be eligible to get any IDOS community incentives in the future. You can change your primary EVM wallet any time from your dashboard.
β
After adding a credential to your idOS Profile, now you are all set to start your idOS journey. Remember, you can always check your data, grant and revoke access to credentials, and add additional wallets as signers from your idOS Profile page.
β
β
β
β
β
Once you have completed your profile, you will be able to complete quests. Completed quests give you points, and you can check your position in the app Leaderboard based on your points.
β
Quests and points
β
Points measure the engagement and collaboration of community members. Quests are designed to help users experience, research and learn more about idOS.
β
Points as split across 3 categories. Quest Points, Social Points and Contribution Points. Quest Points and Social Points will contribute equally towards your Total Points in epoch 1, Contribution Points will also be considered in epoch 2 in addition to Quest and Social Points. Epoch 1 has already started, and will go until October 24.
